Caleb Hahne Quintana

Artist's biography

Caleb Hahne Quintana was born in 1993 in Denver, Colorado, and currently resides and works as an artist in Brooklyn, New York. He is represented by the Anat Ebgi gallery in Los Angeles. In 2014, he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design in Denver.

Through his art, Hahne Quintana revisits and represents his Mexican roots, a personal heritage that might have been lost due to his family's migration and the gradual Americanization of their habits. As a keen observer of light, a central focus of his compositions, the artist gives form to the vagueness of memory and the subtle veil that envelops childhood. In his works, the subjects, bathed in a warm light rendered through acrylic, pastel, graphite, and colored pencil, are captured in moments of quiet intimacy. Their gestures are serene and composed, seemingly anonymous actions, but through the artist’s work, they acquire a profound inner significance.

Quintana’s thoughtful meditation on his choice of subjects elevates the everyday to a level of profound depth, transforming what is often overlooked into something monumental. The collection includes three of the artist's works.
