Itamar Gov

Itamar Gov, born in 1989, is an interdisciplinary artist whose work encompasses various expressive forms, including site-specific installations, sculptures, paintings, photographic series, graphic works, and videos. His creative journey focuses on the complex interactions between history, ideology, and aesthetics, exploring how personal, collective, and institutional memory is manifested and interpreted through art. Since 2010, Gov has lived in Berlin, Paris, and Bologna, where he has deepened his studies in cinema, history, and literature.

Gov's art often draws inspiration from forgotten micro-histories, using them as a tool to analyze and reflect on broader socio-political dynamics. At the core of each of his projects is a critical attitude towards cultural traditions, conventions, and habits that are typically accepted without much questioning.
