Kyle Dunn

Kyle Dunn, born in 1990 in the United States, currently lives and works in New York. He earned his B.F.A. in Interdisciplinary Sculpture from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore in 2012 and participated in the Option SCIE program at the Haute École d’art et de design de Genève (HEAD) in Switzerland in 2011.

Dunn’s stylistic signature is a blend of inspirations drawn from ancient Greek culture, vintage gay cinematography, and photography. His vibrant color palette and video game-like atmosphere create an engaging visual experience. In his work, painting intersects with sculpture, resulting in delicately embossed edges that lean toward the viewer. The almost extraterrestrial settings convey a range of moods through a tragicomic lens, exploring themes of masculinity, the status quo, gender roles, and societal expectations within the romantic sphere.
