Nedko Solakov was born in Cherven Briag, Bulgaria, in 1957 and graduated in painting from the Academy of Art in Sofia, where he currently lives and works. Recognized as one of the most important Bulgarian artists on a global scale, he works with installations, drawings, photographs, videos, and performances. His art is characterized by a strong artistic vein and an explicit, immediate language. Critics acknowledge him as a director who enjoys guiding his audience without appearing didactic, aiming to evoke curiosity and wonder in them.
In the Iannaccone collection, there are two drawings featuring charming “Doodless,” so named for their resemblance to doodles, which interact with the viewer, even through words, evoking an immediate sense of sympathy.
