Giulio Frigo

Giulio Frigo was born in 1984 in Arzignano, in the province of Vicenza. He studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan and later at UCLA in Los Angeles. Today, he is recognized as one of the most promising young artists in the Italian art scene, drawing attention for his highly refined and sophisticated reflections on painting, light, and color.

Frigo’s intellectual imagination and poetic approach are evident in his exploration of light modulation and color dynamics in figure construction, elevating his artistic figurations to entirely new levels. His cultural eclecticism is influenced by significant figures such as Martin Heidegger, André Malraux, Gino de Dominicis, Giorgio de Chirico, and Carlo Carrà, enriching his body of work.

He views painting as a performative act, where traditional techniques and materials are activated by abstract, modulated light. The artist employs color as a fluid continuum that radiates, expands, changes, emerges, and mingles without fragmenting.
